Distribution:
Circumglobal.
Remarks:
The Redmouth whalefishes have square-shaped head, smooth skin, and small pelvic fins with five or six rays. Its most distinctive feature is the plethora vertical rows of small papillae along the sides. Their maximum length is about 11 cm.
The Rondeletiidae family contains two species, Rondeletia bicolor and R. loricata .
