Distribution:
Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific Oceans.
Habitat:
Marine.
Remarks:
The Synodontidae family contains two subfamilies: Synodontinae (lizardfishes) and Harpadontinae (bombay ducks) with four genera with about 57 species between them. These cylindrical fishes have small or no jawbone, spineless fins, and small sharp teeth present in their large mouth and tongue. Maximum length about 60 cm.
