Habitat:
Bathypelagic zone, depth range 400 – 2,500 m.
Remarks:
The Spookfishes are a family of small, deep-sea fishes found in tropical and temperate waters throughout the world's oceans. Their eyes are usually tubular, so that they stand out. They mainly focus above or in front of their head, adapting binocular vision at the expense of lateral vision. While some have pelvic fin base on side and adipose fin, most tend to lack a swim bladder.
